It all starts with a letter in the mail. "Congratulations" it reads in big, golden letters. The address is print neatly on the corner, but you don't need to even glance at it. Already you know where it's from. Full of vigor you rush inside and open the envelope and nearly squel with joy at the letter's contents. An invitation to attend the world famous and prestigious "Hope's Peak Academy" in Japan. People all around the world attempted to enter, but you were lucky enough to become one of the 16 students that will make up this year's Sophomore class. Your Super High School Level title is also mentioned in the letter, a skill that you surpassed all others in. Hope fills your heart as you know your life will change for the better.

Or so you thought.

At first everything seems normal once the awaited day finally arrives. However, all it takes it the first step inside the building to know something's wrong. A fit of dizziness overtakes you and before you know it your body has hit the floor. Your last moments of conscious pass quickly before you awake inside an empty classroom. Inside the school are students just like yourself; all expecting to learn the skills needed to become the new hope of the world.

Unfortunately, it won't be long before everyone realizes the only subject on the school's lesson plan is Despair, and the Head Master takes his curriculum beary seriously.
